Milwaukee Community Service Corps The Milwaukee Community Service Corps (MCSC) traces its roots to the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) and the Works Progress Administration (WPA) of the 1930’s.  It integrates education, experiential work projects and skill development to improve the physical landscape and social fabric of the region.  Area youth between the ages of 14 and 23 years lead a variety of initiatives to preserve, conserve and restore water quality throughout the Great Lakes basin that include constructing rain barrels, creating wetland habitat, cleaning debris from rivers and tributaries, planting rain gardens, installing green roofs, maintaining natural areas for groundwater recharge, removing cladophora algae from local beaches, and remediating contaminants from lake sediments. next >
